[R129 SL] SL trouble

Tom,

I have a '97 R129 and the exact same thing happened to mine. Luckily it was
under warranty and of course there was no cost to me so. The dealer replaced
the battery and "a computer module". I know this isn't much help but it does
confirm your suspicion. To prevent the drained battery problem from
happening again, I connected a "smart" trickle charger to the battery and
this keeps it at full charge without overcharging. They cost about $40.
