Hello list,
As some of you may remember, I initiated an agreement with Eric
Lawrence of CPI Value Guide back in the Fall of 2000 for a volume purchase
for calendar year 2001's 4 issues at a single subscription price of $19.95.
Well, I thought maybe I'd give it a try again this year, so I contacted
Eric. Now that Black Book/National Auto Research (subsidiary of Hearst)
has bought them out, I was on the phone with Freddy Hall the other day, and
we came to an agreement of sorts.

Whoever is interested in a volume purchase deal for next year
should email me expressing an interest. I don't yet know what the final
price will be (yeah, I know) but Freddy said that his final price will
depend on how many copies are involved. Anyone interested should let me
know between now and Friday, December 13, 2002. I'll notify Freddy as to
how many people have expressed an interest, he'll advise me of the price,
I'll notify everyone, and then if you're still interested, I'll give you
contact information directly to Freddy. You will then contact him to
finalize your order for 2003. The only thing I'm getting out of this is
maybe a free one year subscription to the CPI Value Guide. (The other time
I did this as you'll recall, I didn't attempt to make any money on the
project, you wrote me checks, and then I wrote one to CPI along with
subscriber's mailing information. That's what's different this time, you
will arrange payment of some type directly with Freddy, and give him your
delivery information at that time.

So, what are you waiting for? This makes a great Stocking Stuffer
for any auto enthusist friends you might have who are always bugging you
about the values of various vehicles, not to mention for yourselves! And,
one final note. I know it's not a cLyDe price index, and I know that CPI
is not the Holy Grail or Robert's Rules of Order, or even embroidered
toilet paper, but it does seem to be something that comes in handy, is
pocket sized, and fun to look at, so if you're interested in the
possibility of saving some money (in case you were thinking of getting one
anyway) please email me and I'll advise you all a bit later as to pricing.

Best regards,
Tom Reynolds

P.S. Doesn't matter which mailing list you're on, or even if you're not on
any list at all. List members, please feel free to spread this offer
around, as "the more the merrier." But remember, deadline for expressing
interest is Friday the thirteenth of December. I've put up a page with
some details about the book, you can see it at
