[nbos] AS2.0 Problem importing routes into sector

Alan,

Thank you very much for your offer. I was able to take the FastBang script
that I had modified 4-5 years ago and alter it again to iterate through the
routes. I set routes.Modified to true and saved. When I brought the sector
back up the routes were still there. Pause and cancel don't work, but hey,
it otherwise does what it says. Because of the disk space reclamation, I
almost think save-as is a better option. I'll have to add that to the user
guide.

Now I need to 'user-friendly' my script, write the user guide, package it
up, figure out how to log onto NOX and upload the thing. Will probably only
take about 4 hours to do all that. Sadly, I only get about 1 hour a week to
work on this.

Dan.

Well if that solution works for you then I won't write the script. If you
do still want it just let me know.

I just tested the "save as" option and it appears to work.

The data source for the perl script is the output from the CSV/SQL Exporter
script. For the version I am finishing up right now, I am starting with a
random sector generated by AS2.0 on which I ran the FastBang script to get
system contents. I did not want a huge sector for debugging purposes, it is
a 40 LY sphere with 906 Systems. Two of the systems qualify as major
systems according to my qualifications - huge population. The script takes
about 90 seconds to run on that data set. My original data set based on the
150Ly near star data set would take about 6 days to run on my computer.
Mainly due to the time involved generating routes between the 118 major
systems (6963 routes, If I'm doing my math right).

I will post it on NOX when I add a layer of user friendliness and write a
brief user guide. But first I have to finish my taxes.

I suspect Alan is right - the routes arent flagged as being modifed.

What you *might* be able to do is do a 'Save As' when you save the file.
That should save everything to a 'new' file. You may have to do a regular
save first (the routes wont get saved, but they'll still stay loaded into
memory and can then be saved with a save-as).

Whats the data source for the Perl script? Are you loading an external data
file?

Ed
