Subject: [LargeFormat] Light leaks

Any sensible tips why I am experiencing light leaks on all images in the top
right hand corner? Oh, all film loaded in pitch black etc. (Cambo kit)

Thank you

You pretty much have to search for the leak. If you are getting the same effect with more than one holder its probably not the holder although they all should be checked.
A good test is to put a sheet of white paper into a film holder and put the holder in the camera. Take the lens board off and shine a strong light around the back. If any light leaks in you should see it. Light sometimes leaks in around holders because something is keeping them from seating correctly.
Check the other end of the camera by taking the back off and shining a light around the front (with lensboard on of course). Also check the bellows although bellows leaks tend not to be in the same place all the time. The best way to check bellows is to use a low wattage "nite-lite" or similar lamp. Take the lens board and back off the camera and stretch it out as far as it will go. Move the lamp around inside while inspecting the bellows in a dark room.
Holders should be checked by shining a strong light into the slot for the dark slide while inspecting from the opposite end with the loading flap open. Put the slide in and look again.
Sometimes leaks caused by poor seating of holders is hard to find.
Its also possible to get a reflection from the rebate in front of the film. Check this by shining a strong light around in front of the lens from an angle. You should see it on the ground glass. Of course also check the lens board for leaks, either in the board or around it. Again the strong light is the best tool.
