DRP is Deutsches Reich Patent.  Reich has more of the meaning of Realm or
Empire rather than Republic.   

DRGM = Deutsches Reich Gebrauchs Muster = German Realm Usage Sample (or Model).
From what I can find on the web, this was an easier/cheaper to obtain legal
status -- some sort of registration of a model or sample of the item.
