The post about trans film being available in 5x7 and larger sizes
brings me to the question?

Why do you use Transparency film?

What is the end purpose of your photogaphs?

10 years ago I shot trans film because that's what the client/printer
wanted to to go press. Now most of them want a digital file and/or a
print to scan for a digital file. The last time I shot transparency
film was on vacation at Disney world. And only because I was using a
Viewmaster camera. Since those images are 16mm I can't say any more or
Clive will have me washing his fixer trays for being "off topic"

When shooting for my self with LF, I see three roads.

Shoot E-6 and have the film stored in a file folder unlooked at or pay
big bucks to have a Ciba made with masks, and hang on the wall

Shoot color neg and have a print made on that neat Ciba look paper from
Fuji. and hand on the wall

Shoot black and white and print it my self.

The E-6 version just seems the most expensive way to the same end.

11x14 trans sounds like fun to tape up to a window, but as display
material it fades fast. I'd rather shoot 4x5,5x7 and have a duratrans
made to stick in the window.
