While on the subject of master exhibitions, the Huntington Museum in
Pasadena has on an exhibi from 400 prints acquired at one time by Edward
Weston. Weston picked the prints himself.

If you are a Weston fan. go. It is magnificent how good a printer he was.
Now the fun part...

While there, a little old lady and her 2 freinds were walking around telling
stories. " Yes, I remember when he brought this one over for Daddy to
see..".. stuff like that. Seems the lady was the daughter of a man that was
a Doctor in the Carmel area, and must have taken care of Weston. Weston
took their family portraits for many years, and also the good Dr. also
acquired several landscapes. She has since "given away" the landscapes, but
keeps the portraits of her family. One of he prints was recently framed....
Apparently Edward had packaged up the negative with the print..... The
framer told her to check what else she had for more of the same,,,,,,,,

OK, maybe it is a story she told me. I like stories like this.....

There is another Weston exhibit at the Center for Creative Photography at
ASU in Tucson ......
