[LargeFormat] 450mm Nikkor M vs 19 inch Red Dot

hello listmembers ... I am a new subscriber ...

I have am bringing together an 8x10 field kit and have a choice beween a
450 mm Nikkor M in a Copal 3, or a 19" Red Dot Apo Artar in an Ilex 4.

I'm thinking the Nikkor/Copal combo would be the better of the two ...
but I will take any and all advice.


My other lens will be a 9 1/2 inch Gold Dot Dagor, soon to be mounted in
a Copal 3 (the Ilex 3 it's currently in is shot; the kit I bought has a
14 inch Red Dot with the aforementioned Copal 3, I plan to have SK
Grimes mount the 9 1/2 inch glass in the Copal).
