[LargeFormat] Linhof

Hi, Philip:

It was a Geronar 210mm f/6.8 Copal 1.

I don't consider myself an expert on lenses. I can form an overall
impression by handling the lens: do the dials turn smoothly?, but
otherwise, can't say anything about image circle, contrast and the
like. The Geronar seemed fine for my purposes: large format using a
Graphic View II.

That was about a month ago! I've since gone for better quality cameras
(Linhof and Gandolfi) and might as well upgrade the lens rather than
getting a second lens. The dealer is giving me 100% credit. I believe its
important to have the best glass you can afford. The only tangible
difference I can see is that the Sironar-S opens to f/5.6 and the Geronar
to f/6.8. I prefer a clearer view.

Otherwise, I've been happy with the Geronar. I've only had 7 pictures
developed so far (taken with the Graphic View and the Linhof) and they look
fine.
