Philip,

Koronas can be repaired by anyone with rudimentary woodworking and
metalwork skills. They are generally made of cherry wood, fairly light and
compare favorably to contemporary wooden cameras.

70mm film is definitely out of fashion. My interest originally was in the
use of infrared aero film and I was contemplating buying a roll of infrared
film. The Korona 70mm back is also a rather elegant piece of engineering so
even if it doesn't get used it is an interesting artifact and will in any
case be a good addition to the accessories section for the planned Korona
page on the web site. You can still find 70mm film processors from time to
time on EBay so processing is not an issue. You do gain a little film real
estate using 70mm film over 120 film but as you say, there are perforations
on some stock.

Your friend was giving good advice!

Cheers,
