Jim,

On the 4x5, 5x7, and 8x10 Koronas the handle is a flat piece of leather
embossed with the Korona name and triangular shaped at the ends to hold it
into the brackets. There is no buckle or shaped part to the handle. I
don't have an 11x14 but agree with Richard that your handle is probably a
later replacement.

Although the original Korona handles do their job well and are very flat on
the top of the camera, I have always felt that they are not particularly
over engineered and do not ever pick up the cameras only by the handle.
Still, in some cases the handles are approaching 100 years old so perhaps
when new owners would have had more confidence in them. Given that the
design did not change for many years they must have been strong enough.

You can see the handle on my 8x10 if you pop over to
http://www.f32.net/discus/ - select "keyword search" under the Utilities
menu and type in korona, the camera should come up in the first few hits.

Cheers,
            Clive
