Dear Cousin Ole,

     I belong to a medieval reenactors group - humourous enough when you
consider that this continent never had any knights or fair maidens - and the
group includes a Brewers and Distillers Guild. They hold yearly competitions
at Midwinters to see if they can produce historical beverages. So far we
have had 34,000 recipes for beer, almost the same number for mead, several
Europoison brandies, and fermented mare's milk.

    I have learned to avoid the mare's milk. The Europoisons are safe enough
if you pour a little into a glass and observe them under a strong light.
Avoid anything that actually etches the glass.
