Having spent 4 hours in my dentist's chair this morning, and walking (sort
of) out with two temporary porcelain crowns, I can verify that this is true
in the U.S. as well.  I don't think I would have been as upset about the
cost though, if dear Uncle Dick had done the procedure; entertainment value
and all!
