Probably his most famous image "Moon over Hernandez" is probably not a good
neg.  I think he forgot the filter factor and that caused the neg to be
under exposed.  The original neg is much different from the one that is used
now to print the print.  This was done without a light meter.  If you
photograph for 70 years you would have to be a door knob not to pick up a
little bit about how film and developers work.  Read Ansel's  book "The
Negative".  Learning the Zone System via this list is really beyond the
scope of this list.
