Now I bet he was pissed at having to ride so slow and avoid all the 
bits that were falling off your cycles ;-)

Clearly British bikes (and Hardleys) were not meant to be in the same 
space as photographic shutters. The only way forwards would be some 
sort of foam padded enclosure in a box on the sidecar, failing that, 
Packard/country shutters or a pinhole camera....
