Dear Don,

     Going on a Viking raid these days is just not what it used to be. To
start with, as George Bernard Shaw pointed out, the churches are getting
progressively plainer, smaller, and uglier. You don't get the good gold
chalices and fine altar draperies that you used to. And as far as the rape
thing goes - well, the parishioners are getting older, smaller, and
decidedly uglier too. Some days it doesn't pay to get out of the boat. And
they expect to cuddle afterwards. Eeek.
