John,

By all means bring it along if you have a way of carrying it 
easily..... The lens would probably be the most useful thing to have 
in your kit if you do not have a long lens - a shutter may be a 
problem but you can always use a "country shutter" as described by 
Les.

That Wolly is a great telephoto lens.
