Les,

Yep, taking the tech approach to the extreme here.

You may be pleased to hear that I have made and used a country
shutter with the B&L Portrait lens and after taking a shot of the
camera and lens in the studio (see
http://www.f32.net/cgi-local/discus/show.cgi?93/248 ). Robert
Lawrence was in the studio (as it was his place) so I tied him to a
stool and took a quick shot, he was a little amused with the
technology and managed to escape fairly quickly so it was just as
well it was an open flash shot :-)

The construction process was fairly easy - I took the outer lid from
a 4x5 film box and found it fitted well over the lens. Hung the box
on the lens, removed darkslide and flipped the lid at the same time
as hitting the radio button for the strobes.

Had hoped to get into the darkroom this evening and dev the 5x7 film
but still immersed in paperwork here.

Have two portraits booked over the next week or so will be using the B&L.

Cheers,
        Clive
