Check out http://www.robertwhite.co.uk for deals on new lenses - you 
might be surprised!

You can buy a brand new 305mm G-Claron in Copal #1 for ~$580 and a 
300mm Nikkor M in Copal #1 for ~$650. I did have a look at that 
Nikkor M
