That's just how they made them and no point looking for logic. The current
sequence of 1,2 4 8 15 30 60 etc is more logical but if you get your
shutters tested you might find the speeds on older shutters take twice as
long as they ought to. It doesn't much matter on colour print film but it
caught me out on Fujichrome until I caught on!  Philip
