Les,

Don't know why you'd be shocked.  I'm in the same boat as you so far as
enlargements of 8x10.  Ain't gonna happen.

I kinda like my prints a tad larger than 8x10.  I do a lot of 11x14 - 20x24.
I'm sure as heck not going to carry around anything in those size ranges.

Digital seems to be a pretty good solution to the dilemma.  I'm comfortable
with 4x5, and actaully, I like contact prints made from 5x7.  Just never
been able to work up much excitement over 8x10.  Too big and too small.
BTW, I know a few other folks who feel the same way.  They tend to be
doctors and lawyers who seem to have no problem at all building anew
darkroom around Durst 8x10 enlarger, or going out and buying a 11x14 Canham
just to screw around with.
