Amos,
That's the major difference between the Linhof and the Leitz finders.
The Linhof doesn't use internal masks - it telescopes and does its
business optically.
Was up until 4am after becoming a little too enthusiastic about
shooting 6x17 this weekend! Ended up surrounded by lens boards,
lenses and bits of cameras..... Have now decided to use a 135mm Wide
Field Ektar on a Kodak Specialist 5x7 camera that has been mentioned
here before. This was the only set up that would take the lens
board/camera/lens configurations that are sitting around here. The
real 6x17 project is still on hold!
The Canon 35mm finder may work out quite well for a 6x17. Works out
to about 140mm on 5x7 so that would be fine. Thank you for the offer,
will try to give you a call over the weekend.
Cheers,
Clive
