Since I can't improve on the answers already given I'll suggest some
older models.

Protars VIIa are not that large. If you could find a 10x12 Protar V that
would be tiny, have great coverage and very sharp for contacts and low
magnification enlargements (dark too @ f18)

Or you could buy and use a 14" Commercial Ektar for 6 months and then
the symmar would feel light and tiny.
