[Jacob-list] Shearing Question

I always had my Jacobs sheared in late Spring before it got too hot (Eugene
OR area) This year the shearer has not be able to schedule me in yet.
Summer has set in with temps in the 80s & 90s. The sheep seem to be
tolerating the heat a lot better not being sheared, compared to previous
years when sheared in late Spring.
Questions:
1. Should I put off shearing for this year?
2. Is it really necessary to have the sheep sheared if I am not going to
be processing their wool?

Thank you very much.
