There have been questions on the Jacob-list regarding on-site inspections at
the JSBA Annual Meeting in Brighton, CO (August 24-26). This message
from the JSBA Inspection Committee provides additional information for those
who wish to get an on-site inspection done.

On-site inspections can be useful because, (1) you get to talk to inspectors
about your sheep; any questions are answered immediately; and (2)
inspections can be done quickly, without mailing the forms around the
country. We hope that offering inspections at AGM will be helpful to
you.

How to do it.

At least two of the inspectors - Royal Unzicker and Tony Phifer - will be at
AGM. Others may be there as well. Find these folks to set up a time to
look at your sheep.

It is the responsibility of the owner to bring a completed application to
AGM. This includes two sets of photos, a fleece sample for rams, and all
other information needed on the form. Rams must be six months of age in
order to complete the process. We will not have blank forms available.

Complete applications may be turned into Shannon Phifer (Business Office
manager) at AGM; she will log in the applications, collect your fees, and
send your completed forms to the registrar (Robin Lynde). And you're done!

Applications that are NOT complete (missing photos or fleece samples) cannot
be turned in at AGM, but must be mailed to the Business Office at a later
date when complete. However, you can get the inspections done at AGM if you
have your forms with you, and this will still save time.

Note that sires and dams must be registered BEFORE their offspring (except
of course for FF animals). Therefore, if you want to have lambs inspected
at AGM but have not yet registered the sire or dam, you may get the on-site
inspections done, but please hold the application and submit it after sire
and dam are registered. (That is, this should be handled like an incomplete
application.)

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or another member
of the Inspection Committee. And have a great time at the AGM!
