I have seen my husband’s Jacobs stand in the stream upon occasion if they can get down to it, i.e. one of us leaves a gate open.
They seem to disappear into the woods and hollows during the heat of the day and graze out front (where the grass is lushest)
in early morning and evening. Some really hot days they just seem to disappear and we don’t see them unless we rattle a bucket or
go hunting. A word to the wise, a swift flowing stream is not an effective barrier (fence line) for Jacob sheep.

Interestingly, one of the ewes gifted us with a surprise set of twins in July (she already a first set back in January) and she and they
are probably the most energetic sheep out there and the ewe is 9 years old. We are in the piedmont of NC and temperatures were
unusually hot during July and it is almost always very humid here.

All the best, Elaina
