[Jacob-list] wool eating

One of the possibilities I forgot to mention is that one of ewes, as a
lamb climbed up daily into one of our feeders and got alfalfa all over
her. The others would eat the hay bits off of her to where she had far
less wool on her neck and back. Could this be a learned behavior that got
started this way? The sheep, older ewes, wethers, and younger ewes all do
this with each other, pulling stray bits of wool out of each other and
eating it.
