[Jacob-list] Photo posting, continued

I did some research and discovered that I can increase the size limit. Does
anybody have any concerns about me upping it to limit to 500K? I just
approved 7 messages which have photo attachments, I think. I'd be
interested to hear from any of you on slow connections. Did those photos
cause problems for you? Email me directly if you have any concerns.

Sorry about the list limitations. Linda is right - it's a size issue. Photo
attachments are in the header of the message, which is why it give a
'suspicious header' error. When larger photos have come through, it is
usually because Cathie or I get a notice and go into the list admin site and
manually approve them. We get a TON of notices from the list admin site
(you would be amazed by all the SPAM) so we don't always notice them when
they come here. I don't think I can change the list settings, and while we
don't mind doing that on occasion for photos that are valuable to the
discussion, we would prefer not be having to do that on a daily basis -
especially if we start getting a lot of "for sale" photos on a regular
basis. Linda's approach is much better for everybody involved.

I think it has more to do with size than content. There's a 100kb (or
something like that) limit to the size of posts that are accepted without
moderator approval. I just upload the pictures to my own web space and post
a link. That keeps listers with dial up from being tied waiting for a big
file to upload.

That is quite common. I just tried to post a photo of Hatch's Eder and it is
on hold also. Not sure what is questionable in the header.
