[Jacob-list] White lamb

It's virtually impossible to totally eliminate recessive alleles from a gene
pool (witness red in Holsteins). I'd be surprised if there WEREN'T some
white genetics floating around in the Jacob gene pool--even had there never
been any crossbreeding. Not bringing in any outside blood would increase
the probabilities of such rare recessives.
I suspect that there could be other explanations also.

Subject: [Jacob-list] White lamb
Had a very strange birth here this morning. Single lamb born dead.
Fully formed, but eyelids still fused shut. The strange part is the
color...Snow White. Not a black mark anywhere, not even on the skin. I
opened one eye, blue, so NOT an albino.
All the lambs forebears go back to my orriginal starter flock from Swallow
Lane. No outside rams.
I've never even heard of a white jacob before. Any ideas anyone?
