Horn Regroth

One morning about three years ago we found our ram, Thistle (then 7 years old) in the paddock with a three year old colt.  Thistle had broken off a lateral.  We put masticlear (a penicillin suspended in oil used for mastitis treatment in the open hole were the horn had been.  Luckily it was the middle of winter so insects were not a concern.  I just put Thistle down, he was pushing 11 years old and had no front teeth and arthritic joints.  He had about four inches of regrowth from the broken horn.
