[Jacob-list] ebay auction for hunting Jacobs

I wholeheartedly agree with you on all points except two. I am a hunter and this is not the type of hunt that I desire nor understand. I also agree that letting our feelings be heard is also part of our liberty. Banning somebody else's legal listing on a public auction site does not seem like liberty.
The market price for a hunt like this would be over one thousand dollars, maybe as high as twenty-five hundred. I am sure that he is hoping that the bid price goes that high.
I have no idea what makes you think he could have gotten the pictured ram (or any other ram somebody would pay to hunt) for as little as fifty dollars. Ranches routinely pay five hundred or more for "trophy" rams. A solid brown, or solid white, ram can still be considered a trophy. Would any of us breed with something like that? I think not. Most of us want good "Jacobs". Most of these ranches want good "four-horned" sheep.
I do not like cheap plastic stuff made in China to be sold on E-bay, I do not think it should be banned.

One more thing. He isn't paying 600.00 for the sheep. He is getting or trying to get that price for the hunt. I am sure he paid a lot less, maybe 50.00. That to me is a bad cull price.

And if you do still believe that one of the great qualities of this country (for those of us in the U.S.) is that we can all get along, no matter our differences; I guess you can let E-bay know that also. It seems to me to be a good thing that there is a market for excess rams at a good price. This market gets a lot of small producers interested in producing Jacobs. I do not understand nor promote these hunts, but I do have a gut understanding of liberty.
On a side point, the listing description of a Jacobs is a mostly brown sheep with a lot of wool. Does not exactly conform to JSBA standards. Starting price of six hundred dollars is not a bad cull price in my neighborhood.
