What kind of tags do you use, Victoria? I bought the button tags from Premier. The free tags for the mandatory program in Georgia don't have your flock number on them, but I was assigned a flock number. Or they didn't when I got them. It may be different now. The tags I bought from Premier to comply with the voluntary program do have my flock number on them. The inventory form has a column for SFCP tag and one for "other tag". I'll leave in any tag for either the mandatory or voluntary program, but I'm going to cut out any individual flock id tags. I wouldn't think there would be any restriction on that. I don't like the look of tags at all. Two, maybe I can get along with, but not three :-) After the tag has been in for awhile the ear should have healed, the same way as pierced ears do. I've cut some tamper proof tags out before and there wasn't blood - just a clean hole.
