OK.. That sounds good! They seem to be doing well.. Nursing well. The ewe
has a lot of "mass" and tissue to her udder.. I think she will have enough
milk.. but have frozen Clostrum and milk replacer on hand just in case. The
lambs are up and down nursing.. still skinny little things.. but I will assess
their situation tomorrow...
I guess I'm a bit more on edge for this gal as she is 13 yrs old... and one
of our favorites.. kinda a pet.She has a flake of leafy alfalfa in front of
her and we are giving her about 2 cups of a grain mix every few hours.. I don't
want to overload her.. but get those calories into her. She is drinking
well.. Drank about 1 1/2 gal. after she got the lambs clean. She has passed her
after birth.. and it seems complete.
If she is short on milk I think I will offer occasional bottles.. but leave
them on her as she seems to be a Tremendous mother! but I think Im over
worrying as the lambs are already testing out their bouncing!
It just seems so strange, and like a special treat to have unexpected
lambs.... Its kinda nice.. to fool with a pair like this.. and not be worried about
the next ewe to lamb out.
