I submitted an article to the Oct 2005 ILReport about a lama fending off a coyote.

Lama routs coyote - it may be republished in a web-letter.
I have 5 pasture/paddock areas now and there is at least one lama in each. I have lent 3 lamas to 2 farms and they are using with sheep and goats and buying them via a lease-buy. Other farms in the area have lost sheep - so far, not here. I do have 70 acres and woods and corn fields to hide in. Flat land farms may have an easier time with less predator cover.
I recently got a Norwegian Elkhound female pup who is kennelled in the barn with sheep now but not left unsupervised. If she is a terrorist, she will have to go.

direction, and hope that there will be responses from many of you.
I am curious about what (if any) flock guardians various shepherds
maintain in their flocks. Do you use dogs, llamas, nothing at all?
We are located in an area that is growing quickly. I do not foresee that
we will be able to use dogs as flock guardians in the future, once our
current dogs have finished their work with us. They are wonderful and I
cant envision using anything else, much less nothing at all, but am
interested in hearing what is working for others
or not working.
Thanks!
