I started raising jacob sheep, along with angora goats, about 14
years ago here in western Oregon. We built a barn for feeding,
shearing, lambing, and for sick bay. Since that barn has always been
a bit small and since it has access problems throughout the muddy
winter, I am now thinking of building a new one. I am wondering if
any of you have a particularly well set-up barn, or know of plans for
such a barn. That could help greatly as i figure out how to design
the new barn here.
My carrying herd is about 30 animals--15 sheep and 15 goats. Most
years, i breed them and have some 20 or so lambs and kids. I usually
load up on 100 or so bales of hay/alfalfa each september, which
usually gets me through the year.
I appreciate any suggestions.
