[Jacob-list] sore mouth

A few years ago, we had a neighbor bring a sheep to our place for shearing.  Very healthy looking sheep she'd purchased from a pet/fiber flock. We used a new sheet of plywood as a base and our shearer  is very good about cleanliness. The visiting ewe was a big hornless Romney and Dave had her in a headlock on the way to be sheared.  Well, two days later, Dave had an odd swelling on his face, the next day a couple of other swellings. I sent him to the doctor and told him to tell the doctor he had sheep pox. The doctor confirmed it was some sort of pox and didn't charge for the visit :-). Happily, the suspicious sheep was the last sheep sheared that day.
