Bummer lamb tonight (third this year, and ever... what's with this
year!) I saw him as I drove up our hill, stopped the car for lone
yelling lamb, told kid in back seat to be ready to hold lamb... got
out, lamb was gone. Ok, maybe not a bummer if he ran off. Walked
around front of the car -- nope, lamb had run to meet me.

Settled in, with some coaxing on five year old daughter's lap. Oh
yeah, he's wild. "Feed me, pet me, feed me..." Weighed in at 7lb 7oz
(after 200 ml goat colostrum) eats as much as a pony!), is sleeping
tonight in a box (as far as I know) in daughters bed room. Is
tentatively named Sid Vicious because in the house, aside from
constantly wanting to eat, he was quite ready to take on the dog (60
lbs and lots of herding instinct) the cat (17 lb hunter) the fridge,
the trash... he's ready for anything and then some. Quite a nice
little guy. Good markings too. It looks like his mother is probably
someone who was supposed to be a cull... oops, we'll have to look
pretty closely at her, once we're sure who she is, and at him, cause
he's a beautiful 2 horn. His only problem so far, aside from already
walking right up to trouble and trying to nurse on it, is that his
bottom teeth are not only well in, but are S H A R P -- I'm wondering
if that's why he's a bummer! We had a goat that happened to. No
one wanted him to nurse, every doe we tried jumped and (effectively)
went "OW".

Tomorrow we foster him out. Tonight we toss the cat out the door
(aside from everything else, I'd be really embarrassed, and upset to
say my housecat ate my lamb!) and the lamb is set. With luck the kid
stays in the bed and the lamb in the box, but we'll see who's where
in the morning.
