Hi Everyone,

We had a ram lamb born with the split eyelid problem, 2 years ago. His was
really bad, to the point of infection every time the wind blew something into
it. Our vet did surgery on it, which cost us around $80. That included meds.
He still has a slight dip to the lid, but hasn't had any more eye problems. He
is now a happy healthy wether. A pet, as well a big help with the girls. We
keep our ram separate and "Old Mo" lets us know when the girls are in and
ready for breeding. He has also become a "Cool Uncle" to the lambs and Pigmy
goat babies, playing with them and protecting them. We're glad we kept him!

We have had 2 single births so far this year. A ewe and a ram and 3 more
Mom's that look ready to pop any time. The other girls will be a little later. I
am amazed every time we have a lamb, as to how well they take the cold
weather. We also raise pigmy goats and have lost a set of twins to the cold this
year. We try to keep a close watch on all the expectant mothers, but for some
reason this year, we aren't seeing the soccer bellies on each side. They seem
to be carrying the babies more up under, in the belly( even some of our
Jacobs). So we are doing a lot of bag checking, AM and PM. I love this time of
year!

Good luck to everyone with their lambing!
