increases inbreeding, reduces genetic variance, make census numbers deceiving 
(effective population vs. numerical population).  The continued use of a 
ram...particularly foundation type rams in small populations....actually 
reduces the genetic value of the offspring becasue it severely curtails 
genetic variability and is "genetically" over-represented in the population.
