Hi Chris,
We found goats are also very fond of locust bark.
I find my sheep are attracted to bark when they are
low on the minerals I give them. I get the minerals
and salt together and are just for sheep and so avoid
the copper toxicity goat minerals have. They have the
sheep minerals/salt always available in a dish on the
wall in their little house. I also put in baking soda
free choice and they regulate their sour tummies
themselves. This year I also added powdered Atlantic
kelp which has lots of trace minerals and they really
chow down on that. Gardern stores here in Calif. carry
powdered kelp as it is great for plants too, but I got
a food quality kelp to give to the sheep.
My sheep sometimes paw when they want to get out
of an enclosure into another part of the pasture.
Have your sheep pretty well cleaned out the food where
they are and there is better stuff in another area
that they can see?
Those are all my thoughts for now. Victoria
