[Jacob-list] Ear Tags (a late answer)

Sorry to be so late responding to the ear tag debate - my e-mail program has 
been on the fritz...  

We use the same 7% iodine that we use on the lambs' navels.  We spray the 
'male' side of the tag with the iodine then insert the tag in the ear and have 
never had problems with infections.
