[Jacob-list] Weaning lambs

Hi all,

I will never forget Lane Harris getting to announce the ARRIVAL of a
lamb when the dam and sire had been siblings and were NINE MONTHS at
delivery! When my vet and others told me they were fertile by 4 months,
I thought that was a bit early----especially for the girls. It isn't
and poop does happen. You always take risks leaving your ram lambs
in----or any fertile ram in off-season. For convenience-sake, I moved
my ram back in with the flock a couple weeks back. Within a few days,
he was kicking at one girl that was not moving, and spent 24 hours close
and sweet with Mimosa. Never saw anything and don't remember lambs
being born in Sept. in the history, BUT........there can always be those
firsts on ISeeSpots Farm! We are known for having things happen that
"I've never seen that before".
