[Jacob-list] New Hamp!

My shearer shears several thousand sheep a year and has yet to make this "trick" apply to our Jacobs. He says that someone forgot to read them that book. We find it somewhat easier to simply grab them in mid-air and lay them down in the correct position.
While we are on the subject, where did you people get those "docile" Jacob sheep for the 4-Hers to show? More to the point, what gave any judge the idea that small size correlates positively with docile animals?
Several years ago my brother and his wife decided to start raising and training Border Collies. Great! In exchange for herding assistance I loaned them some JacobX wethers to train their dogs with. The sheep, however, had other ideas. They found that they could get away from the dogs by simply charging the people and running past them. It helps if the sheep are dumber than the dogs!

  RE: Cheescake shot of Mordecai.......

I used the shearer's trick of placing my thumb in his mouth on the far side from where I was standing and turning his head while pushing down on the rump closest to me...it was really quite easy once I got the hang of it...it renders them completely helpless and they act like babies...
