This virus is actually something called a "worm".  When someone's computer 
becomes infected this worm, it attaches itself to ALL outgoing email 
messages, thereby spreading itself to others.  That means that someone on 
this list has an infected computer and is spreading the worm without 
knowing it.  Every time they send a message to this list, they run the risk 
of infecting all of us.  I, too, have an antivirus package (Norton) which 
caught it before it could do any damage to my system.  Please everybody, if 
you don't have an antivirus package, buy one!  If you do, please keep the 
virus definitions up to date!

I'm sorry if I sound "preachy", but I had my system trashed early last year 
from just this sort of thing.  A worm got through to my unprotected system 
and it nailed my hard drive.  I had to completely rebuild from the ground 
up!  There was no physical damage to my system, but all of the files I had 
and hadn't backed up (another lesson learned the hard way!) were gone for 
good.  I don't like paying for the software -- or the annual "subscription" 
fees -- more than anyone else, but compared to what I went through, it is 
money well spent!  Someone's comment to me at the time was, just like I 
spend money to insure my car from damage, so I need to spend money to 
insure my computer from damage.

So, please buy and use an antivirus package!  That's the only way to make 
sure that you -- and the rest of us -- are protected from the idiots of the 
computer world.

OK, I'll get off my soapbox now...sorry for the sermon...I mean well.
