Many, many thanks to all of you who offered help for
the ewe.  The decision was made to transport her to
the vet for xray.  Had not wanted to move her too much
initially and he did not have a portable set up.  In
any event...there was a bad break in her spine...and
by late yesterday she was not moving the legs at all
and no response to pain nd was not eating.  There was
alot of fusing in the vertebrae as well as
arthritis....the decision was made to put her down.
she was only 8....she will be missed terribly.
