Hi,
    Have just translated Mary's processing costs for her lamb and it came out
at £43 roughly. That's over twice what we are currently paying locally and
that has increased enormously with various legislation in the last 2 years.
Our pure bred lambs kill out at around 40-50lb boxed.
    Lamb is much more popular in the UK than the US by the sounds of it
although my favourite book is an Australian one readily available in the UK
(and inexpensive too) which is packed with recipes from all over. I'll see if
there's an ISBN number if anyone's interested.
    I tend to slow roast over wine, veg, and herbs (especially Rosemary);
ground mostly goes for moussaka and our own homemade sausages. We also made
haggis last year which, contrary to folklore is NOT something that runs
around Scottish hills with one leg shorter than the other!!
    Weather in East Anglia - fog to the ground and frosty fleeces.
