[Jacob-list] Contest &Opp testing

I think the contest is a super idea. go for it. 
If you enter the Federal Scrapie program you can have your sheep & goats tested free for OPP, brucellousis, and TB.  Basically, you must put special eartags in for identification.  have the state come 2x for the first year to test, then once a year after that.  It does mean keeping good records of what animals leave the farm and where they go.  Also to move upward to Certification you need to have a closed flock or  only bring in a ram.  Otherwise you just stay at the basic level.  Usually the state vets that do the testing are super nice and you do learn alot.Plus many buyers are more aware of  having an OPP free flock and also Scrapie free.  Even though there has never been a case of Scrapie in the Jacob.
