Dear List Members:

The originators of the Jacob List put a great deal of thought, time and
effort into it's development and it's mission statement and guidelines. We
wanted it to be the very best product we could make it to serve as a tool for
better communications between Jacob breeders everywhere. It was decided not
to monitor the List and to leave it uncensored and open to all regardless of
organization affiliations. We kept the rules to a minimum because we wanted
to see a free exchange of information and ideas. But along with that freedom
of speech, it was, and is, expected of each list member to monitor
themselves. It was never the intention that the List be used to cast any
person in a bad light. I have included a copy of the List Guidelines for
everyone to review, especially the last three items. Overall, list members
are to be commended for their courtesy to one another. Let's keep it that way.

 1. When you join the list, please send a message introducing yourself and
briefly
describing your involvement with Jacob sheep.
 2. Please keep the content of messages related to the Jacob.
 3. Be sure the subject line reflects the topic being discussed.
 4. Sign your name to each message.
 5. Do not send photos or other attachments to the list. Most messages
containing
such attachments will be rejected by the list software.
 6. Do not post private messages from others without first receiving that
person's
     permission.
 7. Occasional Jacob-related advertisements are permitted. Identify the
posting as
such by using "AD-" as the first word in the subject line.
 8. Diversity of opinion should be expected and respected. When debating
issues
avoid personal conflicts and stick to the issues.
 9. This list is not monitored. Each individual is expected to conduct
themselves in a
     courteous manner.
10. Repeated misuse of the guidelines may result in a warning or possible
suspension from the list. Address complaints or suggestions to:
