Fontaine just sent me this email -
Go right ahead. It's fine 2 send to where our friends are. *My brothers
did not want it on Facebook because they are feeling anxious about
strangers wandering around on the hill. *So my sister and I agreed. But
we have certainly told a lot of people.
Will definitely have it in San Antonio. My sis is exploring the cool
German beer hall, Beethoven maennerchor. Also San Antonio Botanical.
Just don't know yet. It took a while to pin down the younger people
because of their jobs.

P.S. On the hill refers to the piece of heaven where Terralita lived
after her Wanderjahrn were over.
It is a small number of acres that survive from her land baron ancestor
Samuel Maverick's holdings. It is reached by a dirt road off a major
avenue in north-west San Antonio whose name I forget. At the top of the
gentle rise of the road is a old trolley car that her father Maury
Maverick had hauled in and converted to living quarters. The porch looks
over a bit of untouched land. Great birding station. Mind you, this is
/inside/ the city of San Antonio.

Is party/memorial to take place in San Antonio or in Austin? Or both??
Thanks for keeping me in the loop. I am going to take the liberty of
forwarding your email to a-g-l. I hope that's okay.

Thank you Michael. It's been a sad but interesting week and we've come
to the conclusion that we can't organize a proper party immediately. We
want to do something as soon as Summer's over. I know it's a while but
we want to do it right. Thank you for your sweet words. Tomorrow morning
in the Sunday San Antonio Express will be an obit. We think it's pretty
darn good.

Michael, just wanted to let you know that we have lost the great
Terrellita Maverick. Just a week ago she was bossing everybody around
and giving advice. Her decline was quite sudden so we're a bit Shocky.
My sis and sister-in-law and I are writing an obit and trying to do her
justice. It's a big loss. Thought you'd want to know.
P.S. Terry took me (Michael not Fontaine) to California - my first trip
to that wonderful state - in 1983 where we stated at her son's house in
Marin Co. We also camped out in the Mendocino Forest and visited Anana
Bliss the naked hippy lady who lived in a ranch uphill from Lower Lake.
Terry was 8 years older than me so by my reckoning she died aged 95. We
should all be so lucky. I could go on all day with Terralita stories
from when she was on the board of Laguna Gloria.
Fontaine, please inform me about any planned memorial for Terralita and
will relay that info to our austin Ghetto list.
Mike
