I did a suicide watch job one time, at Shoal Creek Hospital. This
required me to have eye contact with the patient throughout the shift,
and write down what the patient was doing every 15 minutes. It was a
curious job. I learned a lot about mental illness and treatment in a
couple of 8-hour shifts. Therapy by slumber party is what it reminded me
of. The filling of Beds is what counts as billable hours in this racket.
My patient spent lots of time on her phone to her shrink, crying without
tears and pleading for attention.
Best,
Frances
Frances, your account jibes with the description of suicide watch I have
been reading about in the newspapers.
All of us feel deprived of the rest of the story. Did Epstein have
friends up to his arrest? Ghislaine Maxwell when she spills the beans
and writes her book is the one who could if she wished divulge. What if
she gets suicided too?
She lives in a handsome body - photos of her are . . . illustrative. You
all know the backstory: her father Sir Robert Maxwell (not his original
name) was one of those genius entrepreneurial Eastern European jews who
survived WW II and made a vast fortune in England. Ghislaine was his
ninth and last child, his favorite it is said. It was discovered that
Maxwell had looted the pension funds of some of his companies to the
tune of some hundreds of millions of pounds to keep other businesses of
his from going broke or whatever. He subsequently walked off his yacht
into the sea: the jig was up.
Perhaps Maxwell senior and Epstein lived and thought alike not to speak
of the intermediary influence of Ghislaine on her intimate friend
Epstein. Saddam Hussein shared the same attitude when it came time for
him to be hanged. He observed that he had had a blessed life as a tyrant
for a long time.
